Amy Crawford

I have been practicing yoga for about eight years, ever since a friend of mine took me to my first yoga class.  I was hooked! I have been teaching yoga for three and a half years. I became an instructor because I wanted to learn more about yoga and immerse myself in practicing. I am also very passionate about helping others, so teaching yoga is a wonderful way to do that! My favorite pose has always been tree pose because I love the balance that yoga brings to my life. I am working on mastering handstands someday. A fun fact about me is that I taught kindergarten in Egypt for two years after I graduated from college. ?
Or… A fun fact about me is that while I’m not teaching yoga, I’m a dog nanny!
Lol – not sure which is more fun.

Michael Tappero

Michael started his yoga journey at 60 years young in November of 2010. He is a competitive runner and studies/teaches different martial arts. He started yoga to gain more flexibility, and has gained so much more! He has done things he never imagined himself doing at his age and smiling along the way!
He completed his 200 hr. yoga teacher training in June of 2014 at Indigo Wellness in Moline, where he learned more about yoga styles, principles and philosophy. He joined the Shine team in January 2015 and is having a great time helping yogis explore their own potential on their mats.

Megan Brienen
Megan is a 2012 graduate of Midwest Technical Institute with a certificate and license in Massage Therapy. Her journey in massage started working alongside a chiropractor where her client base included those with specific ailments that depend on massage, such as; fibromyalgia, Kennedy’s Disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and spinal deformities. Since then she has worked at a members gym to accommodate for those needing sports recovery massage, as well as run her own independent business where her main focus was therapeutic relaxation. She has knowledge on the benefits of essential oils and how they work with massage. Megan is skilled in Swedish, Therapeutic, Sports, Deep Tissue, Chair, Prenatal massage and specializes in the use of Hot Bamboo sticks. Her personal massage technique is one in its own. Her pressure ranges from lite to moderately deep depending on client need. During a single session she will incorporate range of motion movements, sports stretch positions for the legs and hips as well as using heated bamboo sticks to give an overall relaxing feel that also has deep tissue quality.
What is Hot Bamboo Massage?
Bamboo massage is an innovative way to provide Swedish or deep tissue massage using heated bamboo to roll and knead the tissue to create an extreme sensation of relaxation and well-being. The sticks are warmed up between hot pads and can retain their heat longer than stones. Different lengths and widths of the sticks offer varied pressure techniques. With Warm Bamboo the results go deeper and last longer than other massage techniques. And the best part is that it feels great! (Not to mention, it keeps your therapist’s hands in better working condition, too!)
